Tour Series 2014: Round 8, Canary Wharf 05/06/14

This weekend I was in London to see the annual London Nocturne cycle race (next post) and was also lucky enough to catch the 8th round of the Pearl Izumi Tour Series as it arrived on the streets around Canary Wharf.
Below are a few of the images I took of the event.

Dean downing & his team mates ride around the course before the start discussing tactics for the race.

Here’s a fisheye photo from the iPhone taken as the Peloton made it’s way around the course for the first time.

As the guys at the front upped the pace, gaps started to show through the field as riders made their way single file through fast right handers.

This one was taken looking down (actually on an incline) towards the start finish line just the other side of One Canada Square as the groups made their way around the course.

Madison Genesis rider Tobyn Horton heads the field as they enter the closing stages of the race. He went on to secure his first Tour Series win with Rapha Condor JLT finishing again very strongly in the team classification.

So the start of an action packed and successful weekend for Mr Horton, photos from the second half of the weekend are in the next post from the London Nocturne.
