Now that the Olympic torch is in Britain, 8000 torchbearers will carry it all over England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland before the torch arrives at the opening ceremony in the London Olympic stadium on July 27th.
As you can see from the previous post, I photographed the torch on day 2 of it’s journey as it reached Exeter. Beforehand, I managed to by a much sought after limited edition replica mini olympic torch. This gave me the idea of a small project for the run up to the start of the Olympics. I am taking a photo of the mini torch every day until the big day using my phone and the apps with it. After 10 days, below are some of the images I have made so far.
During the coming 55 days, I will post highlights of this project to the blog as London, the UK & the world counts down to an exiting summer of sport. I will also see the real thing at least twice more along its route, firstly on July 12th in Lyme Regis and secondly very early in the morning on 27th July at Hampton Court Palace!
